It is known that the Italians transfer the cooking art in France, but the French cooks develop it and makes their cuisine richer. Those aspects make it the best of the best. We don’t guaranty you can find the same thing in Plovdiv, but you can try in the restaurant with a French name “Le petit Paris”. The restaurant challenges its customers with culinary claim. They will measure it but first they have to reach “Mladejka”st. that isn’t close to the perfect center of the city.
The place relies on image through French conception but also offers international cuisine. It can surprise you! In Le petit Paris your day may begin in a typical French style – with a French onion soup, French croissant and hot chocolate. During lunch the offer is home - cooked meal which you can enjoy under the copy of the Eiffel Tower which protrudes above the small market nearby. In the evening you can try selected salmon fillet with classic Hollandaise sauce on a bed of asparagus, French cockerel - corn chicken perched on corn with milk sauce and saffron, selected duck fillet with caramel sauce and goji berry. The chefs are Marin Tomov and Ivan Chukov.
If the claims in Le petit Paris are too high for you, we recommend you try something proven in time, very real and authentic. Only few meters from the Eiffel Tower is situated the famous Plovdiv tavern “Vodolaza”. The alehouse is located between the pavilions of the market and is housed in a proudly painted by an unknown artist nondescript metal structure. There you can drink straight to the table on the sidewalk the classical duet – rakiya with lemonade, while listening a typical dispute about the International situation or the splendor of the chest of the clerk of vegetables. “Vodolaza”is the complete counterpoint of “Le petit Paris”. It doesn’t make any claims, it offers only natural experiences. There are no chefs in the kitchen, but fryers for sprat and chips, grills for kebapcheta and meatballs. The prices are scandalously low. If you’re lucky you may run into the traditional event “Fair of sprat” in which you drink sprat and eat beer. There is only one condition - to the tavern carnival are allowed only people who can drink at least a beer keg without using the toilet.
