Winter is the perfect time for fun in the snow and we looked for a place where winter sports can be practiced in and around the city

The week started snowily and all lovers of winter sports got ready to take out the ski and the snowboard. The team of the digital guide of Plovdiv selected several pictures from the past years when the city under the hills became a winter resort for a few days.

Bunardzhika, the alleys from the top of the Youth Hill, the stairs of Saedinenie Square or the steep streets in the Old Town are the perfect alternative to the winter resort ski slopes and if this seems exaggerated, it can certainly be just as much fun here. You don’t even need special equipment or a sleigh to take advantage of it. The imagination has no boundaries and nylons, old tires or any kind of handy materials can be safely used for this purpose. See for yourself that the fun is guaranteed:

Well, in order to be completely objective and given the fact that, unfortunately, this winter still can’t bring us joy with plenty of snow, we’ll specify that there are several winter resorts in about one hour drive from Plovdiv. Winter sports enthusiasts can go down the slopes of Pamporovo, Chepelare or Borovets, which offer conditions for both beginners and keen skiers. The Zdravets hut is much closer, and there are also the slopes of eco hotel Zdravets and Koprivkite. Byala Cherkva, Tsigov Chark and St. Konstantin are also places where you can combine mountain hiking with a downhill and make a short weekend getaway out of it.
