The long holiday weekend in Plovdiv is even more tempting, especially for the culinary connoisseurs. The stands of the third edition of the Taste of Plovdiv await hungry people, located on both sides of Raiko Daskalov (The Little Main Street) in Plovdiv (from the Roman stadium in the direction of the Maritsa pharmacy underpass). This time there are decorated benches and tables as you have to enjoy the delicious delights slowly.
On the street are Plovdiv's top restaurants, food craftsmen and Farmer’s market Plovdiv. Here are the stands, demonstrations, and tastings of the restaurants Memory, Hemingway, Note de Vino, Salt and pepper, Odeon, Opera, Torro Grande, Jump, Central, Dolce Fellini, No Sense, Fabric, and many others. Top chefs make demonstrations of preparing delicious food with quality Bulgarian products. These are chef Alexander Bardarov - Memory, chef Rosen Chakarov - Hemingway, chef Yuri Velev - Metro Academy, chef Stoyan Rahov - Raffy, grill chef Dancho and many others.
Two of the stands are of craftspeople from RZK - Plovdiv. They showcase their masterpieces, thematically related to cooking, home, and food, such as wooden and ceramic vessels, salt shakers, spoons, breadboards, ornaments, candles, and many other souvenirs.
The farmers market, which has been presenting the richness of the local tastes and foods for the past 7 years, is represented by 12 producers. You can try and buy: cheese, white cheese, from sheep and cow’s milk, the famous Sadovo peanuts, fruit and vegetables from farms, honey, and bee products, crackers of dried vegetables and seeds, and a winery specially presents cherry wine.
The biggest queue, however, is on the huge grill next to the pirogis where the meat is chopped with yatagan, the flavor is tempting and the hungry community is multicultural. The scent of kebab, skewers, and meatballs is just irresistible and we recommend visiting the fest hungry and thirsty!
