Here are a few images of the hill at present, as we all await the official opening and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the magic of one of the most beautiful places beneath the hills:

“The birth certificate of Plovdiv “ -  this is how historians and archaeologists refer to the remarkable complex of Nebet Tepe, spread across the plateau of the hill of the same name in the northern part of the Three Hills area. The existence of the ancient city began there. The first stone in the development of the settlement was laid on that hill 8,000 years ago.

At Nebet Tepe, evidence of the oldest settlements on the territory of today's city, dated to the 6th millennium BC, has been found. Ages and civilizations have layered upon one another in this part of the Three Hills, which has been declared a national cultural monument and is undoubtedly one of the most important cultural-historical sites not only in Bulgaria but also in the Balkans.

In recent years, the site has been undergoing restoration as part of the "Along the Fortress Walls of Philippopolis" project, which was supposed to be completed by the end of 2023. Nearly 10 months later, the location has still not been officially opened, and both residents of Plovdiv and visitors of the city are deprived of one of their favorite spots, where the powerful energy of the rich history and the spirit of civilizations can be felt in every stone.

Still, our media team managed to visit the top, and we can now get a clear idea of what Nebet Tepe looks like after the reconstruction. Currently, the peak is much better landscaped, with pathways for walking; metal bridges have been built and they blend in without being intrusive, allowing access to attractive viewing points. The areas around the fortress walls to the north and west have been cleared of greenery, which is noticeable even from lower perspectives. The view from the square tower, accessible via a metal bridge, is impressive, the restored access to the tunnel from the north, too.

Here are a few images of the hill at present, as we all eagerly await the official opening and the opportunity to walk freely among the exposed ruins and once again immerse ourselves in the magic of one of the most beautiful places beneath the hills:
