Free screening of Living Proof and a meeting with Matt Embry

After the first presentation in Europe of the documentary Living proof in Sofia, the film will have its premiere in Plovdiv. After the screening, there will be a meeting with the producer and director Matt Embry, who has been living with the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis for more than 20 years and is visiting us at a special invitation by MS – Moga sam.

Tickets for the event are provided by followers and friends of MS - Moga Sam Foundation from Plovdiv, but due to the organized number of seats, registration is required.

The hall has special places designed for people with wheelchairs.

Who is Matt Embry?
Film producer and director from Canada. Owner of Canadian production company Spotlight productions. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1995, After diagnosis, along with his father  Dr. Ashton Embry (researcher - geologist), began to travel and meet the world's best Multiple Sclerosis specialists with the hope to find a breakthrough in the treatment of this disease.

During his travel from England to Iowa, he also met many people with this diagnosis who shared their own knowledge and experience in MS treatment, ignoring the advice of neurologists and the costly treatment that traditional medicine preaches. Based on the information he got, Matt Embry prepared his life program, which includes a strict diet, sleep and physical exercise, thanks to which, 23 years later, his illness is asymptomatic.

The movie Living Proof
The film follows the path of Matt and his father, from England to Iowa, in search of answers to the possibilities of treating this disease, including the methods of holistic medicine. The film raises a number of issues related to the effectiveness of the therapy that traditional medicine knows and the pharmaceutical companies support.

Exhibition of Lika Yanko /drawings/

Drawings of one of the most remarkable women in the Bulgarian art scene of the 20th century - Lika Yanko, will be seen in the first solo exhibition of the Aeterna Gallery.

After a successful start with two collections of modern artists, composed mainly of paintings, this time the walls of the art space will shine in bright outlined and casual master drawings.

12th Annual Black Box International Theatre and Dance Festival 2018

The 12h annual Black Box International Theatre and Dance Festival will be held from May 31 to June 6, 2018, in Plovdiv. The festival features 10 international and Bulgarian works in the fields of theatre and contemporary dance from 9 countries. Leading Bulgarian stage director and actress Diana Dobreva is a special guest of the 2018 The Black Box ITDF.

Pop-Up Park Plovdiv

Between May 30 and June 3, the first pop-up park in Bulgaria will be placed in front of Central Post Office. The new temporary green space will include artificial grass, flowers, table, benches and bean bag chairs, umbrellas, table tennis, trampoline, various games and opportunities for physical activity and entertainment, a photo area and will be in place for six days. The park will be 50 square meters and will unleash the potential for building a new civil space in the heart of the city.

The pop up the park will bring extra foliage to the city center and, besides being a place suitable for relaxation it will offer different entertainment opportunities for both young and old. The pop-up park will include a calendar full of free events for all Plovdiv residents and guests of the city. Various demonstrations of training will be held every evening at 6 pm in the park as part of the Week of Physical Activity and Sports, to be held from 28 May to 3 June.
