The Old Town of Plovdiv is a true architectural and historical gem, which unsurprisingly attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. Narrow cobbled streets, impressive Revival-era facades, breathtaking views, and one of the best-preserved ancient theaters in the world.

You can spend hours in the area, enjoying the peace, quiet, and echoes of long gone times, but it's definitely not something we'd recommend for people with young children. Kids will surely get bored quickly, and a walk with them can turn into a major challenge.

Fortunately, recently, right in the heart of the Old Town, a brand-new playground has been opened, offering a perfect opportunity for rest between sightseeing and fun for the little ones during family trips.

It is located at a beloved spot for cultural events, weekend strolls, and relaxation for generations of Plovdiv residents and guests of the city under the hills – the King's Stables (“Konjushnite na Tsarya”).

The playground is different from the typical equipment found in other playgrounds. Its concept is more in line with an eco-adventure park for kids. The structure is entirely built from natural wood. As of now, it features three slides of various sizes, a small climbing wall, a climbing rope, stepping logs for jumping, a drawing board, and other fun equipment to help develop children's motor skills.

Currently, renovation work is underway there, led by the new operator of the King's Stables – the team behind Plovdiv STAGE PARK, which for years has been developing the area at the foot of Youth Hill (Mladezhki Halm). So, very soon, we also expect the opening of some of the most popular summer venues for Plovdiv residents in the Old Town.
