Padel is a racquet sport that originated in Mexico in 1969, when Enrique Corcuera adapted a tennis court in his backyard by adding walls and using a smaller racquet. The sport quickly gained popularity in Spain and Argentina, and today it's one of the fastest-growing disciplines in the world. Padel is played in doubles on a slightly smaller court than a tennis court, surrounded by glass and metal walls that are part of the game, similar to squash. It combines the dynamics of tennis with the tactics and spectacle of wall sports, making it accessible and exciting for both beginners and advanced players.
Since the beginning of the year, Plovdiv also has its own place where enthusiasts can play padel and become part of the latest sports trend.

The first courts in the city under the hills – Smash Padel – are located on “Asenovgradsko Shose”. The complex includes three indoor courts, imported from Switzerland, and a café. Several outdoor courts are also expected to be built behind the UHT sports hall near the Rowing Channel.
Padel is a great sport for players of all ages and skill levels, as it is easy and quick to learn. Most players pick up the basics within the first half hour, and shortly after that it comes the enjoyment of the game. Padel doesn’t require as much strength, technique, or skill as tennis, which makes it the perfect game for everyone. Matches last between 15 and 20 minutes, depending on the level of play.

The price per hour is 52 leva, with free balls and racquets available. For those interested in higher-quality equipment, there is also the option to rent or purchase.
There are also coaches at the club who can help you improve your technique and become a better player.
