The city under hills once again turns its parks into open-air stages with no tickets required throughout June and July. Check out the full schedule and pick your date and location:

 

Just a week ago, we informed you where to watch free open-air cinema during the warm months, and today we reveal the theatrical performances coming to the green spaces beneath the hills.

The festival “Light Up the Neighborhood – Theater in the Park” will once again bring beloved Plovdiv parks to life and delight theater lovers throughout the summer months.

For the seventh consecutive year, the parks in various districts will be transformed into open-air stages where Plovdiv residents can enjoy performances like:“Fans” starring Valentin Tanev and Hristo Garbov; “If I If You” starring Krasimira Demirova and Simeon Vladov; “Too Much Laughter” starring Nencho Ilchev. For the youngest audience members, there will be two shows: “Funny Magic Tricks” with Nencho Ilchev and “Just Not Me”.
 

The idea behind the festival is to promote theatrical art by organizing theater evenings open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, education, or interests.

  • Trakia District – Park “2019” near Lidl
  • Southern District – “Raicho Kirkov” Park (“Studenets”), next to “Zornitsa” Kindergarten
  • Central District – City Garden (between “Beethoven” St. and “Hristo G. Danov” St., in front of Central District Office)
  • Western District – “Ruja” Park
  • Eastern District – “Kamenitsa 2” Park
  • Northern District, “Karshiyaka” Neighborhood – “Ribnitsa” Park
  • Southern District, “Kyuchuk Paris” Neighborhood – “Belite Brezi” Park
