No need to look for another reason to take a trip to the city under the hills for the weekend

We have recently updated for you our 48-hour detailed itinerary for exploring Plovdiv, and today we are adding an event that we guarantee will make your stay even more enjoyable. For the seventh time in a row, Old Plovdiv will host "the best combination of wine and food" and will tempt all connoisseurs with wonderful Bulgarian wines and tasty delicacies. As many as 39 participants will be located in the shady courtyards of some of the Revival houses on May 8 and 9 and will be waiting for Plovdiv residents and guests of the city with exquisite combinations of drinks and specialties.

The event is a wonderful occasion for a pleasant weekend walk, where you and your friends can share a sweet conversation with a glass of good wine and irresistible delicacies. Its goal is to promote Bulgarian wine and cuisine so you’d to be able to try over 200 types of wine in the form of tastings. Traditionally, this will be done with tokens of 75 stotinki. They, together with branded glasses and special tasting sets, will be available for purchase at any location.

As every year, guests of the event will be able to vote for their favorite wines. By filling in the questionnaires, the audience favorite will be determined in the 4 categories: red, white, rose and fruit wine. A draw will determine which of the visitors, who filled in questionnaires, will receive a bottle of quality wine.

A pleasant surprise is this year's festival program. It has been updated and the highlights are Matinee with Wine and Gourmet, the Jerusalem dance challenge, a specially organized walk around Wine and Gourmet, the fun game (Wine) Man, Don't Get Angry and Wine & Music Fashion Show.

The mobile photo corner will go around all locations and streets in the Old Town. Everyone who takes a picture with the frame of the festival and uploaded the photo on Instagram, will participate in the game Photo for memory. There will be a surprise prize for the photo that gathered the most likes by the end of the tastings on Sunday, May 9.
